BILLING &
WATER SERVICE

The Rates sheet is a summary of the charges for water consumption and does not include charges for connections, reconnections, etc.  For more information on other charges that may be incurred, refer to the Tariff.

The Tariff provides full details on all charges a member may incur and serves as the Corporation's water service rules and policy.  The Tariff is filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT).

New Service

If you are a new property owner, you will need to complete and turn in the Customer Information form to the Customer Account Specialist.  If water is already at the property, you will also have to sign and turn in the Service Agreement.  You will also need to have a Customer Service Inspection performed before you can receive water service.

If you are an existing member wanting to start water service, you will first need to complete the Meter Installation Request form and Service Agreement and return them to the Customer Account Specialist.  Once your water meter is installed and all plumbing work completed, you will need to have a Customer Service Inspection performed and turned in to the Corporation before you can continue water service.

IMPORTANT:  Please note that a Customer Service Inspection (CSI) is required prior to connection to the water system (before you actually start receiving water). To find a Customer Service Inspector, call TCEQ at 512-239-6135 or go to

http://www.tceq.texas.gov/goto/lic_reg_search.

(The CSI is at the property owner's expense.)

NEW PROPERTY OWNERS:  If you are purchasing a property served by CMWSC, you will need to complete the Customer Information form.  If the property you are purchasing already has water service, you will also need to sign the Service Agreement and get a Customer Service Inspection.

Confidentiality of Data

Confidentiality of Data

Information in your customer account record, including your personal information (telephone number and address) and information regarding customer usage, services, and billing, including amounts billed or collected for utility usage, is generally excepted from disclosure under Texas Government Code, Chapter 552 (Public Information Act).*  However, the Texas Utilities Code, Chapter 182 (Rights of utilities Customers) provides that a customer of a government-operated utility may request that the government-operated utility disclose personal information in a customer's account record, including the customer's address, or any information relating to the volume or units of utility usage or the amounts billed to or collected from the individual for utility usage.  Additionally, a customer or a representative of the customer may receive information excepted from disclosure if the information directly relates to utility service provided to the customer and is not otherwise confidential by law. You may use the Utility Disclosure Form if you wish, but such a form is not necessary.

You may rescind your request for disclosure by providing Crown Mountain Water Supply Corporation written notice.  A government-operated utility or an officer or employee of a government-operated utility is immune from civil liability for a violation of Texas Utilities Code, Chapter 182, Subchapter B.

*Confidentiality under Chapter 182 does not prohibit a government-operated utility from disclosing personal information in a customer's account record to:  (1) an official or employee of the state, a political subdivision of the state, or the United States acting in an official capacity; (2) an employee of a utility acting in connection with the employee's duties; (3) a consumer reporting agency; (4) a contractor or subcontractor approved by and providing services to the utility, the state, a political subdivision of the state, or the United States; (5) a person for whom the customer has contractually waived confidentiality for personal information; or (6) another entity that provides water, wastewater, sewer, gas, garbage, electricity, or drainage service for compensation.

As well, under the Texas Business Organizations Code, Chapter 22 Nonprofit Corporations, Crown Mountain Water Supply is required to provide the member's name and address in a Voting Roster available for viewing by the member  for 40 days prior to a member meeting in which members will be voting.  CMWSC uses the member name and lot numbers for the Voting Roster in accordance with its by-laws.
